'Knowledge and skills for the new economy'

Written by Kimberly Seltzer and Tom Bentley for Demos in 1999.

This pamphlet, in 1999, fused the emerging knowledge economy with the growing need for lifelong learning, to make the case for an education system that prioritises creativity and works in conjunction with employers, digital technology and community institutions to distribute learning opportunities and outcomes far more widely.  Recommends a dramatic reduction in compulsory content for the school curriculum, a change now being gradually implemented by governments around the world.
