This monograph began as an oration for the Australian Council of Educational Leadership in 2018. It grapples with the challenge of educational leadership when the context of education is directly challenged by economic inequality, social conflict and environmental crisis.
Argues that education cannot operate separately from that context, and advocates practical and courageous responses by leaders.
